The Best News Ever!

The Gift of Life

We could see the first line almost immediately after the test began. The instruction says however to wait for at least 3 minutes for the second line. We were excited but not knowing if it will yield us the result that would change our life forever. Then there it was, faintly and slowly becoming visible until it was almost the same colour as the first. It was Positive! Leah is pregnant! For the first few minutes we didn’t know what to do except hug each other.

We were not that confident a few weeks ago that it would come this soon. A close relative who happens to be a seer happily told us that a month before that a “breakthrough” on Leah’s condition will happen and the number 3 will be significant (see earlier blog article). That month, we waited in anticipation for it to happen. It didn’t. Then a fear hit home. Sometimes in the back of our minds, we are convinced that somehow we should also prepare for the possibility that maybe such moment is not meant to be. Then last Friday which fell on the 3rd week of this month (July) we got an answer.

Unlike other couples, we don’t have the luxury of delaying starting a family. Leah’s endometriosis hangs like a grim reminder that we could not take for granted having children. So when the second line appeared, we felt humbled. The gift of life as well as the gift of parenthood felt like God’s hand extending to us. We felt truly blessed.

The Serenity Prayer

This is my all-time favorite. It was introduced to me by a Redemptorist priest during my college days and I have kept the tiny pamphlet in my wallet ever since.

...

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

New Feature (Part 2)

hOkay, I finally got it! After doing trial-and-error on this, I have finally figured out how to do it correctly.

If you want to install any javascript feature into your Friendster blog, just create a LINK typelist for it and paste the javascript  html code in the NOTES section. Make sure to configure your typelist to display notes "as  text." Voila! :)

I think I had  problems with  the alignment before because I was putting these javascripts in READING typelists. And since Friendster allots space for an image of the supposed book you have on your list, that's why they have aligned the NOTES part to the right.

Everything's good to go now. See how my blog now abounds in scripties! LOL. :)

New Feature

Thanks to fellow blogger Jannah for helping me out with the tagboard installation. Friendster though still needs to improve it's blog features so that it can be more flexible with the user's needs and would therefore allow the users to be more creative with their blogsite. I've had a little difficulty in making the tagboard appear within the table provided. For some crappy reason, the message board always seemed to be squished to right. I partially fixed the problem by reducing the table width to 110 pixels. Now, you can see the board in its entirety but still, it's not in the position I want it to be. Talk about being O-C! Hehehe...

If anyone of you would want to install one on your Friendster blog, just let me know. I'll post the instructions in a separate entry. :) In the meantime, you can fool around with the tagboard on the left to see if you'd like one yourself. :-)
